My name is Shahrzad Tohidi, though my birth certificate name is Zahra. I have been a dedicated teacher and teacher trainer since 2002, specializing in CELPIP, IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, and English as a second language.

I began my career at Aryanpour School of Culture and Education in Tehran, Iran, where I worked for 15 years in various roles, including teacher trainer, quality control officer,  and testing and assessment officer. Now I live in Toronto, Canada, and have been teaching at ILIA Academy for over two years, focusing primarily on CELPIP preparation.

I hold a degree in English literature from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran an CELTA certification from Cambridge International House in Izmir. Additionally, I have advanced German language certifications (ÖSD1, 2, and 3). 

I’ve been recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2008, 2013,  2016,, and 2017, and I received the “Best of the Best” title in 2019. I became the best teacher out of 400 at Just English TOEFL Center in Turkey. I continuously update my knowledge by attending workshops and seminars by renowned educators like Jim Scrievener, Rod Ellis, and Ray Parker. 

I have a wealth of experience with students from different cultural backgrounds, helping them achieve high scores in CELPIP, IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE. I also assist immigrants in Canada with their language needs and help international students prepare for English-speaking universities.
